GMA Design Group is proud to have collaborated with ARCO National Construction Company on the successful completion of Performance Food Group’s (PFG) new 83,213-square-foot cold storage facility expansion in Morristown, Tennessee. This cutting-edge expansion significantly enhances PFG’s operational capacity, supporting its ability to meet the evolving needs of a growing customer base. The facility integrates a combination of freezer, cooler, dry storage, and processing spaces, all designed to optimize efficiency and performance in the food distribution sector.
The thoughtfully designed expansion includes a 34,263-square-foot dry warehouse, a 20,762-square-foot -10°F freezer, a 6,614-square-foot 40°F cold dock, a 6,550-square-foot dry dock, a 4,610-square-foot 28°F freezer, a 3,515-square-foot 36°F meat processing area, and a 4,820-square-foot cooler space. Each area is purposefully designed to support PFG’s diverse operational requirements, ensuring product integrity, streamlined workflows, and regulatory compliance.
The facility is further enhanced by an advanced refrigeration system, 32-foot clear heights for maximum storage capacity, and 12 strategically placed dock positions to streamline logistics and improve turnaround times. These features collectively position the Morristown facility as a model of operational excellence and innovation within the industry.
