GMA Design Group collaborated with ARCO National Construction to design a dynamic and highly functional office and warehouse space for their Kansas City team. Spanning 52,253 square feet, the facility was carefully planned to balance operational efficiency, employee well-being, and a strong sense of corporate identity. The completed project features 51 private offices, four state-of-the-art conference rooms, and a 2,000-square-foot training room with stadium-style seating, ensuring ample space for focused work, collaboration, and professional development. The warehouse and office components are seamlessly connected, optimizing workflow while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic.
A defining aspect of the design is the incorporation of amenities that reinforce ARCO’s “work hard, play hard” culture. A fully equipped gym supports employee wellness, while the expansive break room—complete with a kitchen and game area—provides opportunities for social interaction. The most impressive amenity is an NBA-sized basketball court, integrating recreation into the workplace experience in a way that is both functional and engaging.
The architectural and interior design elements were developed to reflect ARCO’s brand and values. The reception area establishes a strong first impression with a custom illuminated logo, while throughout the space, branded elements narrate the company’s history and culture. Full-wall murals depict ARCO’s timeline and core values, and a backlit, laser-cut map highlights their sabbatical program, reinforcing the company’s commitment to employee growth. Each conference room further strengthens the connection to the local context, featuring murals that celebrate Kansas City’s sports heritage.
